Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Vernon and Kathryn Wurm; brothers, Joseph Wurm and Norbert Kidd; sister, Margaret Bressler; sister-in-law, Pam Kidd; nephew, Christopher Walters and father-in-law, Lloyd Walters.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 31 years, Susan Wurm; adored daughter, Kristin (Casey) Potts; Beloved son, Jacob Wurm; his sister, Kay (John) Bradford; brother, Art Wurm; brother-in-law, Chris Walters and Anthony Walters; mother-in-law, Dorothy Dible; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Robert is a 1980 graduate of Spencerville High School where he played basketball. He is a United States Navy Veteran, where he served as a Corpsman. He spent the last 25 years of his life working construction and dedicated his time to the youth of the community, coaching basketball, football and baseball. He was a certified basketball referee and dearly loved the sport.
Robert was a dedicated and loving family man, a true friend and loved his dogs.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, where funeral services will begin at 9 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Burial in Dayton VA Cemetery with Military Honors.
