Willie Louise Cleveland

April 27, 1948 — March 8, 2020

Willie Louise Cleveland was born on April 27, 1948. Born in Carthage, Mississippi she attended O. E. Jordan High School and joined New County Line Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She relocated to Dayton, Ohio in 1968 where she obtained her high school diploma from Dayton Night School and worked as a baker for Sunshine Bakery. She went on to work for General Motors where she dedicated 33 years of service as a production worker before retiring in 2010.

She was known as Weezy & Mother by family and friends and Hamma by Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren. Louise took great pride in helping any and everybody she could. Mother had a green thumb making plants, trees and shrubs flourish as she took great pride in her garden. She also was known for making her signature Christmas décor annually. Mother loved to cook, was very family oriented and cherished people over material things. She brought light into every room she entered. She was the definition of an overcomer and was never afraid to speak her mind. Louise was the armor bearer for treating people fair and giving everybody a second chance.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Cassie Ragsdale, 2 brothers, Ben Harris and Robert L. Harris as well as her son Bobby T. Cleveland. Louise was survived by daughter Trisha A. Cleveland of Dayton, Ohio; 4 sisters Mallie Primer of Kosciusko, Mississippi. Teresa Stokes, Dorothy Primer, Ann Berryman (Edgar) of Carthage, Mississippi; 2 brothers Jessie Ragsdale of Jackson, MS, and David Ragsdale (Loudes) of Carthage, MS; 3 sisters-in-law Carolyn Harris, Carolyn Pacley, and Katherine Spearman of Dayton, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Devin Cleveland, Morgan Cleveland, Ryan Cleveland, D'Lamar Woods, Darrius Woods of Dayton, Ohio, Darnell Woods Jr. (Angel) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jordan Cleveland of Columbus, Ohio and 3 great-grandchildren, Lydia Hassan, Xavier Reed, and Hayden Woods of Dayton, Ohio; long time best friend Alva Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Louise will be missed so dearly by all who knew and loved her.
