William Fredrick Yorgen Sr, 93, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Willian was born in Chickasaw, Alabama, William graduated from Wyoming High School, Wyoming Ohio. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 29th Infantry Regiment in Ft. Benning GA. He graduated from Cincinnati Embalming School in 1957
William is proceeded in death by JoAnn, his loving wife of 60 years, his Mother, Father and Brother. He is survived by his children, William Jr. (Connie), Ken (Michelle), Cynthia (George) Koepplinger, Melissa (Neil) Kulow, Daphne (Thomas) Reilly and brother Edward .
Grandchildren, Nicholas (Dena) Yorgen, Peter (Hayley) Yorgen, Kate Yorgen (Derek), Greg (Hannah) Yorgen, Christopher (Melissa) Koepplinger, Angela & Sarah Koepplinger, Julie (Justin) Lackmeyer, Michael (April) Reilly, Michelle (Jeremy) Barrick, Kimberly (Alan) Kidder.
Great Grandchildren, Cason, Bently, Molly, Reese, Cameron, Riley, Ryleigh, Ryder, Austin, Landon, Nolan, Ava, Braylon, Matthan, Torin, Eleanor.
William was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He worked for Morris Son’s Funeral Home for over twenty years. He sold Life insurance for Aid Association for Lutherans and owned his own handy man service before retiring in 1999
William was an active and charter member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huber Heights. He loved the outdoors and was an avid boater, hunter and golfer hitting his first hole in one on June 5th 2013. At the age of 81.
A celebration of Life will be held at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5566 Chambersburg Rd, Huber Heights. The family will receive friends between 10:00 and 11:00am Monday, November 17, 2025, followed by a Eucharistic Service at 11:00am with Pastor Kelly Reagan and Pastor Melvin Younger officiating. Following the services William will be interred at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to Dayton Children's Hospital, or to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church.
