William Wade West

William W. West, age 91 of Huber Heights, passed away April 4, 2017. He was born December 18, 1925 in Charleston, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Josephine; 4 children: William J., Jackie (Alan), Robert and Donna (Brian); 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and various nieces and nephews.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force, retiring after 24 years of service as a Pilot and Flight Instructor. After leaving the service, he owned his own construction business; served on the Board of Directors for MRDD; belonged to the 82nd Air Force Pilots Group; served on the Dayton Board of Realtors; and was an active member of Bath Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be held from 1-4 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where funeral and military services will begin at 4:00 pm. Private burial will be held at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to The Hospice of Dayton.
