William E. "Butch" Vanwey
October 26, 1942 — May 20, 2019
William E. Vanwey, "Butch," age 76 of Huber Heights, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 after a short illness. He was born October 26, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Wilbur and Edith Vanwey.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Willie Vanwey.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rachel Vanwey; children, Benjamin (Nina) Vanwey, Jessie Altman, Jeffery Altman, Jason (Sara) Altman, James Altman, William Gross, Kim (Brian) Springer; grandchildren, Elliott and William Vanwey, Noah Slaven, Maliea, Justin, Carson, Liam Altman, Jacob Gross, Brianna Ramsey; 2 great grandchildren, Amelia and Tommy "Man Man"; siblings, Edward Vanwey, Rita Smith; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bill loved drag racing, Mopars, and all of his racing friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Willow View Cemetery.
