William V. "Bill" Rowland, age 62 of Trotwood, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on May 12, 2020. He was born April 15, 1958 in Middletown, Ohio to the late William "Bud" and Geneva "Chris" Rowland. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles "Dick" Martin; and brother-in-law, Edsel "Daryl" Stamper.
Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Laura Rowland; brother, David Rowland; sister, Jane Stamper; nephews: Scott, Christopher and Jeremy Rowland, Jonah and Carter Shaver & Matt Martin; nieces: Jessica Cummins, Beverly Sixt and Amanda Elliott; mother-in-law, Pauline Martin; brothers-in-law: Lee Martin (Ann) and Bruce Martin (Pam); sisters-in-law: Peggy Shaver (Ken Roddy) and Amy Stepp (Lowell); many other relatives and friends.
Bill retired from AK Steel (Armco) on January 13, 2007, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association since January 1986. Bill was owner, driver and trainer of standardbred horses. Some of his favorites were: Jehohsa Phat Joe, Fizzle, Graylins' Siege, Millie's Belief and Bazinga.
A memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road.
