William H. Rigney

William "Bill" H. Rigney, Sr., 83, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton with his loving granddaughter Tonya by his side. Bill was the devoted husband of Barbara L. (Hix) Rigney; they were married in Dayton, Ohio and have been married 53 years.

Bill was a member of Destiny Church in Huber Heights, where he was a former deacon, a Commander of the Royal Rangers for over 30 years and also a member of the FCF. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he proudly served his country as a Fireman during the Korean War. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed.

William is survived by his wife, one son Steve (Cathy) Norris; four daughters Kathi Winters, Chris (Jim Rhoades) Rigney, Karen (Ed) Heizer, Laura (Robert) Dixon and Teresa Norris; grandchildren Tim (Laura) Norris, Brian (Denise) Norris, Jeff (Ruth) Henkaline, Jason (Tonya) Norris, Jesse Henkaline, Shannon Zicht, Brandi (Josh) Smoker, Jeremy Hileman, Ashley (Ray) Tschirhart, Heather and Carrie Dixon; great grandchildren Dustin, Lillian, Alaysia, Jamie, Riley, Bailey, Shelby, Steven, Blake, Jaxon, Haley, Dylan, Caeleen and Ethan; great great grandchildren Everett and Payton; and a sister Grace Spivey. He was preceded in death by two sons Gary Norris and William Rigney, Jr.; a son in law Steve Zicht; a grandson Michael Norris; two brothers; and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel with the Pastor Eric Smith officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery with full military honors.
