William Michael Pitcher, affectionately known as "Mike", passed away peacefully with hospice at the VA on October 8, 2026. He was born on July 6, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio.
Mike will be remembered for a life marked by service, skill, and a spirit of adventure. He graduated from Meadowdale High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy. During his military service, he was stationed on the John Paul Jones, a guided missile destroyer. His time in the Navy reflected the steady dedication and sense of duty that remained part of who he was throughout his life.
After his military service, Mike worked as a medic on the Alaskan pipeline, a role that spoke to both his resilience and his commitment to helping others. Beyond his work, he found joy in pursuits that matched his adventurous nature. He enjoyed scuba diving and flying small airplanes, embracing experiences that brought both challenge and freedom.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Esther Pitcher.
He is survived by his brothers, Allen (Linda) Pitcher and Steve Pitcher; his niece, Alix Litton; and his nephews, Brent Pitcher and Aaron (Annette) Pitcher. Those who knew Mike will remember him with love and gratitude, and his memory will remain with his family always.
