William “Bill” Schelling Meyer Sr. was a self made man that loved the sportsman’s outdoors. With a little help from mother nature, he built a paradise to share with family and friends that he eventually retired in. On May 19, 2025, Bill rested peacefully into the hands of the Lord with his wife Chic and family by his side.
Bill took great pride and joy in his family and he was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Alfred Meyer, brother Fred Meyer, his son and namesake William Schelling Meyer Jr. and his grandson Keaton Meyer. Bill is survived by his wife Chic of 64 years that he adored, his son Jeffrey Meyer and wife Laynae Meyer, his daughter Tara Meyer, his daughter Debbie Yount and husband Jeff Yount, and his daughter in law Ladonna Meyer. He also leaves behind 9 beloved grandchildren Jeffrey, Jackie, Jenny, Cody, Mikaela, Rylie, Avery, Raegan and Liam and 10 great grandchildren that always brought a huge smile to his face.
As a master story teller, Bill never met a situation he couldn’t develop into a story that would sound exciting, inviting and captivating. This is one of the qualities that made him successful as a Sales and Marketing Executive at both Chemineer and Philadelphia Mixers. Bill also was an avid fisherman, hunter, tennis player, boater, golfer, and had one of the best belly laughs you ever heard.
In honor of Bill’s wishes, services will be private and those wanting to pay respect can do so by donating to Donate to Tunnel to Towers Foundation . Bill’s family will host an open house at the NCR Country Club (4435 Dogwood Trail, Kettering, OH 45429) on May 29, 2025 from 3pm-5:30pm to celebrate Bill’s life and the overwhelming impact he had on his family and friends.
