William Edward McGohan, 88, of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026. Born on November 2, 1937, he lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to his family and faith.
William's professional journey was marked by an impressive 40-year career at General Motors, where he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Prior to his long tenure at General Motors, he served in the US Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958, exemplifying the values of service and duty that defined his character.
Known as a gentle and kind man, William made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a profound love for Jesus and embraced his faith wholeheartedly, sharing his warmth with friends and family alike. His passions extended beyond work and faith; he enjoyed spending his leisure time playing golf, an activity that brought him joy and camaraderie. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and wife, the joys of his life.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 66 and a half years, Donna McGohan. Together, they created a beautiful family that includes their two children, Lori McGohan and Lisa Hayes (Steve). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Chloe McGohan, Noah Hitchler, Josh Hayes, and Kourtney Hayes, as well as his great-grandchildren, Forrest, C.J., and Liam. He is also survived by his siblings: sister Kathy McGohan, brother Pat McGohan, sister Pam McGohan, and sister Karen McGohan, along with a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alberta McGohan. William Edward McGohan will be remembered not only for his contributions to his profession but also for the love and kindness that he freely shared throughout his life. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
