William T. Jacobs (Leach) passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on March 29, 1957, William was a proud member of the Iron Workers Union, Local 290 out of Dayton, Ohio. Recently honored with his 50-year pin, he also contributed to the Evansville Local 103, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his profession and his craft.
Known for his keen intelligence and resourcefulness, William was the type of person whom many turned to for guidance and support. He cherished his family deeply, consistently ensuring he was present for them in their times of need. His hard work ethic was matched only by his devotion to his loved ones, embodying the virtues of perseverance and loyalty. A patriotic soul, he took pride in advocating for individuals' rights, always reminding those around him of the importance of standing up for oneself.
In addition to his professional achievements, William found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors, often gazing up at the stars. His influence extended beyond his family, as he became a pillar in his community, dedicating his time to coaching basketball, softball, baseball, and volleyball. As a drug-free power-lifter, he promoted fitness and health, inspiring others to pursue a balanced lifestyle.
William is survived by his children, Derek Jacobs (Melissa) and Montie Jacobs; his grandchildren, Ashten (Kenzie), Kayla, Daniel, William (Charlotte), Sophia (Jordan), Timothy (Brooklyn), Ava, Carson, Korynn, and Kynnedy; and his great-grandchildren, Jayde, Ava M., Lylah, Aurora, Elyjah, Cody, Kinsley, William Jr., and Dallas. He is also survived by his sister, Cissy Hurd (Steve), his brothers, Gary Leach and Randy Leach; and his best friend, Gene England, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of family and friends who will carry forward his legacy.
William joins in eternal rest his beloved wife, Sherry Jacobs; his daughters, Cody and Rylee; his parents, W. H. Leach and Phyllis Leach; his brothers, Bobby Leach, Dougie Leach, Jimmy Leach, Jimmy Jacobs, and Ronnie Leach; his aunt Nelle Rogers; and his grandmother, Thelma Williams-Smith. He will be remembered fondly for his immense contributions to his family, friends, and community, leaving behind a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., in Kettering, Ohio, with Williams' service starting at 7:00pm. William will be laid to rest with his wife at 10:30am on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery, in West Carrollton, Ohio.
