William Marlin "Bill" Chambers, Jr., age 86, of Waynesville, passed away September 10, 2025. He was born October 18, 1938 to the late William "Bill" and Margaret "Madge" Chambers. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Chambers; step-son and great friend, Scott Qvick; grandchildren: Charessa Qvick and Max Miller.

Bill is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Barbara Jane Chambers, whom he married on November 8, 1968; children: Keith Chambers (Michelle), Kelly Miller (Jason) and Randy Chambers (Terri); step-sons: Jeff Qvick (Sherry) and Terry Qvick (Jeri); grandchildren: David, Daniel, Dylan, Debbie, Kailee, Josh, Trey, Brooke, Kelsie, Casie, Rhiannon, Anita and Jeremy; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy Delaney (Merle); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bill grew up on Valley Street in Dayton in a house that his father converted from a store. In 1944 his dad was called to war and Bill stepped up to the role of "little man" for the family, helping his mother with his siblings and doing grocery runs to the nearby store; his mom never learned to drive. Bill graduated from Kiser High School, Class of 1956, and spent his high school years working at Liberty Grocery Store and hanging out at J and F Garage, where his love for cars and street racing began.

Bill was very proud of his family and worked hard to support and raise them. He was the best dad and step-dad and always supported them and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their events. For most of his career, Bill worked 7 days a week at GM as a Tool Maker. He spent his free time working on cars; he had a special love for Mustangs and Corvettes. Most of all, Bill was a devoted Christian with a strong love for God and his family. Bill and Barb were members of Spinning Road Baptist Church for over 50 years.
