William Patrick "Pat" Austin, age 67, of Fairborn, passed away June 8, 2024. Pat was born in Houston, Texas on July 22, 1956.
Pat is preceded in death by his brother, Gene Paul Austin Jr.; father-in-law, Adrian Watkins; grandmother, Essie Bobbie Smith; and his mother, Patsy Smith Austin.
He is survived by wife of 17 years, Katana D. Austin; daughters, Suzie Austin, Tamie Camp and Jayna Varner; sons, Nathanael (Emily and beloved family) Dunlavy and Andrew Copeland; grandchildren, Macy Cash and Toby Camp; nieces, Gwendolyn (Jeremy) Simpson, Julia (Drew) Cherry and Christa Ross; nephews, Patrick (Jessica) Joy, Jeramiah Joy and Tyler Ross; life-long friends, Danny Childress and Ken (Jackie) Majors; sister-in-law, Beth Childress; mother-in-law, Hazel Watkins; father, Gene Austin Sr.; sister, Jacquelyn (David) Joy; and a host of family and friends.
He retired from AES of Dayton after 10 years as an electrical engineer, which he loved. Pat attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas from 1974-1976. Pat was a member of the Koinonia Institute since 2009 as an alumni and adjunct professor. He is "still following in the dust of his Rabbi." Pat had a great sarcastic sense of humor and a wealth of knowledge.
Pat was a devoted Trekky, a movie aficionado, and never lost his love for learning. He was an avid collector of pipes and was a tobacco connoisseur. He enjoyed music and had a captivating voice. Pat loved spending time with the "love of his life" and three beloved puppies, Lexi, Luna, and piranha-saurus, Mildred. Pat was a friend to all and had a comforting presence. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at City Church located at 206 W. Dayton Yellow Springs Rd, Fairborn OH 45324 with Pastor Ken Majors officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2:00PM until the service starts. Join us following the service for food, fellowship, and reminiscing.
