Wayne Harold Ellis, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 23, 1946, in Middletown, Ohio, Wayne was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Wayne dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career, retiring as a master assembler from Square D. His work ethic and dedication were complemented by his honorable service in the Marines, where he bravely completed two tours in Vietnam.

An engaging and supportive presence, Wayne was the cornerstone of his family, keeping everyone together with his loving, kind, and forgiving nature. He was not only a great role model for his children and grandchildren, but his unyielding spirit also inspired many throughout his life.

Wayne graduated from Middletown High School and carried the lessons learned there into his adulthood, sharing his knowledge and values with his beloved family. He took immense pride in being a grandpa, relishing every moment spent with his grandchildren: Justin Ellis, Brandon Ellis, Hailey Ellis, Peyton Ellis, Ashley Ellis, Tyler W. Ellis, and Chelsie Ellis, as well as several great-grandchildren who brought joy to his life.

In addition to his family life, Wayne enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, gardening, and spending quality time with his dogs. He found deep satisfaction in yard work, often working side by side with family members and friends.

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Monica, and their three sons: Brian Ellis, Robert Ellis, and Kevin Ellis. He will be profoundly missed by his siblings: Barbara Shaffer, Marty Ellis-Exline, and Karen (Terry) Robinson, along with extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Myrtle Ellis, and siblings, including brothers Warren Ellis and Jim Ellis, and sisters Shirley Griffith and Anna Thomas.

Wayne will be missed dearly and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, love, and support will continue to resonate within the hearts of his family and friends.

Inurnment at Dayton National Cemetery will be held by the family at a later date.
