Warren Shehee, age 73 of Dayton passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at home. He was born February 12, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Herbert and Ora Lee Shehee.
Warren graduated from Roosevelt High School on June 5, 1963 in the NCR Auditorium in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966.
Mr. Shehee worked for the City of Wilmington, Delaware as a housing code inspector and contract compliance officer from 1973-1981. There, he developed a talent and skill in drywall, painting, and finishing. After leaving the City of Wilmington, he established his own business in home remodeling, Shehee Construction. Warren operated Shehee Construction from 1981 to 2007 doing business in Wilmington, Delaware, the Washington DC metro area, and in Atlanta, GA.
Warren semi-retired from his business in 2007 and continued to do construction and home improvements for family and friends. Additionally, he tried his hand at landscaping, traveling every year to Maryland and Ohio to beautify family's yards. He moved back home to Dayton, Ohio in 2010 and retired from business.
Warren had a love of basketball. He played in high school, Roosevelt and later he continued his desire to play with the "Wilmington Old-Timers", which is a league that consists of talented basketball players, several of whom were ABA/NBA players.
Warren was a lover of dogs. His two prized Doberman Pinschers were named Cape and Warlock. He was truly a family oriented man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Shehee.
Warren will be missed by his loving children, Shelly Brown, Sharrod Shehee, Shane Shehee and Sean Holsinger; grandchildren, Asha Bishop and Richard Nelloms, Jr.; significant other, Faye Nock; siblings, Gail Shehee (Lawson), Shirley Shehee (Turley) and John H. (Bonita) Shehee; many nieces and nephews including his special niece, Nikki Shehee, special nephews, Anthony Lawson, Tharron Shehee, James, and Tramehl Turley and Jovonni Lawson, and special friend, Tammy "Lisa" Crowder.
Family will receive friends Saturday January 20, 2018 from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Newcomer South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Dayton National Cemetery at Shelter B.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Warren's memory to the Paralyzed Veterans.
