Wanda J. Wetz, age 89 of Kettering, OH passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 31, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio to John and Elsia (King)Procuniar. Wanda married John Wetz, Jr. on August 23, 1947 in Dayton, OH.
Wanda loved gardening, sewing and cake decorating, making several wedding cakes for her family. She belonged to the TOPS club for many years. Wanda and John walked for years at Town and Country and had coffee with friends afterwards. They enjoyed visiting the local casinos and visiting casinos in Tunica, Mississippi. Wanda enjoyed the holidays with her family, creating fun and goofy games that they all enjoyed. The family enjoyed their time at Indian Lake over the summers, fishing and campfires. Wanda loved babysitting and spoiling her grandkids; she loved her family dearly, and will be greatly missed by all.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 72 years, John; two daughters, Jackie (Gary) Bush, Sandy Haskins; five grandchildren, Amanda McKenzie, Andrea (Aaron) Morris, John Wetz, Sara Haskins and Aimee Haskins; three great grandchildren, Hailey, Brayden and Teddy; a sister, Nettie Cowman; a sister in law, Thelma Martyne; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Michael "Mike" Wetz; a sister, Irene (Harry) Miller; and three brothers, Bill (Marilyn), Tom (Dawn) and Sam (Joyce) Procuniar; and a grandson, Brandon Haskins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Wanda's name to Hospice of Dayton (Ohio's Hospice), 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420.
Visitation will be held on March 2, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial to follow services at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, Centerville, OH.
