Vivian Lena Galloway-Thevenin, born on October 15, 1935, in Fonde, Kentucky, passed away on April 3, 2026. Vivian was a devoted mother, grandmother, and an active member of her church community in Kettering, Ohio. She was known for her compassionate nature, dedicating her time as a Girl Scout leader and participating in Meals on Wheels and various church events. A talented crafter, Vivian lovingly crocheted gifts and taught her children to sew, passing on her creative spirit.
She cherished her family deeply, often hosting large holiday dinners and enjoying camping and travel adventures with loved ones. Vivian’s love for animals was evident in the many dogs she cared for throughout her life, with her favorite being Chewy. She shared fifty years of marriage with her late husband, Marlin L. Thevenin, and later was married to James Galloway, who also preceded her in death.
Vivian is survived by her four daughters: Anna Lena (Michael Ouellette) Thevenin, Mary Ann Payne, Cheryl Ann (Larry) Tuck, and Vi Ann (Robert W. Bernotas) Bernotas; her son, Lawrence Stephen (Debbie) Thevenin; 12 Grandchildren; 24 Great-Grandchildren; 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Wrinkle; mother, Belle Wrinkle; husband, Marlin L. Thevenin; son, Marlin Lawrence Thevenin, Jr.; brothers Virgil, Carl, Gilbert, Kenneth, and Jack Wrinkle; and her twin sister, Lillian Zena Peters.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio. A graveside service will take place Thursday, April 9, at 11:00AM at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Vivian’s presence touched many lives, and she will be remembered with great respect and affection.
