Virginia Ann Summa

With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of Virginia Ann Summa, who left us on August 20, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on December 31, 1949, Virginia was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Virginia’s life was one defined by her devotion to family and her relentless joy in making memories. She carried within her an infectious enthusiasm for simple pleasures: tending to her garden, creating pockets of beauty and serenity in her home; smiling with delight during cherished trips to Disney; and, above all, spending treasured hours surrounded by her family and friends. In these moments she found her greatest happiness and gave to others the comfort and affection that so defined her character.

Virginia’s legacy is one steeped in loving remembrance, as she joins in peace those who went before her: her devoted husband, Fred Summa, whose partnership she treasured deeply; and her dear parents, Ila and Jack Price, whose guiding hands and hearts shaped much of the woman she was.

She is deeply mourned by her son, Craig Griffin, and daughter-in-law, Jen Griffin, whose lives were forever enriched by her advice, laughter, and constant support. Virginia is also survived by her beloved brother, Eslie (Maria) Boles, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua (Julie), and Josie (Wyatt); and great-grandchildren, Whittaker and Anthony.

The family will gather in a private ceremony to lay Virginia to rest at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. In the quiet beauty of this resting place, her family will honor her spirit—a spirit that lives on in every blooming flower, in every story retold at family gatherings, and in every smile exchanged in her memory.

Virginia Ann Summa’s life was a lesson in love and selflessness. Her warmth endures in those she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
