Virginia Mae Lotz, "Tina", age 85, of Dayton, died peacefully in her sleep, on April 12, 2016 at Sycamore Glen Health Center. She was born on May 27, 1930, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, to Chester and Irene (Moe) Sutliff. She was preceded in death by her parents. Tina is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, David; her three children, Karin and Susan of Poultney, Vermont and James, of Dayton, Ohio. She graduated high school in 1948 and went to work for Nash Coffee Co. in St. Paul Minnesota. When David was in the Navy at home on leave, he married Tina on May 12, 1951. They moved to New London Connecticut, where Dave attended submarine school. Dave started in the insurance business in 1953. They moved from New Richmond, WI to Eau Claire, WI to Davenport, IA to Sioux City, IA to Sagimaw, MI to Dayton Ohio over the next 30 years. Tina was an excellent bridge player and played in several clubs. She loved gardening and was a member of Penbrooke Garden Club for 30 years. She was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Switzerland, France and Ireland. She loved dogs, and over the years enjoyed Tiny, Rip, 3 Dukes, Baxter and Bud. One of her favorite things was to wrap up in a warm blanket, sit out in the screened-in porch and ride out the summer thunderstorms. Her love of flowers and the outdoors would send her to the many nurseries for her choice of flower (not orange, red or pink!). For several years she collected tea leaf and iron stone. She enjoyed the annual meetings. She was well-liked by many clubs and organizations and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Penbooke Garden Club, 7706 Eagle Creek Drive, Dayton, OH 45459. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 1:30 pm. to 2:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
