Virginia Diane Gerkin

Virginia Diane Gerkin, 85, of Kettering, Ohio was reunited with her husband, Kenny, on May 18, 2018. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Virginia was born on December 31, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Helen (Flanagan) O'Meara and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Lloyd Sr.; daughter, Connie Gerkin; brother, Frank O'Meara, and sisters, Margaret Bauer and Kathleen Albert. Virginia is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Gary) Focht, Kenneth L. Gerkin, Jr., Cindy (Bill) Watkins; grandchildren, Holly (Tracy) Watkins, Buddy (Abby) Watkins, Krista (Shane) Sturgill; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, James (Joann) O'Meara and Dan (Karen) O'Meara, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:00 am on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Newcomer (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 Smithville Rd., Dayton. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
