Virgil C. Bidwell, a beloved father and grandfather, passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 26, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, he lived a life characterized by kindness and a deep commitment to helping others. Virgil proudly served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his dedication and service.
He worked at Delphi (General Motors) for many years. Virgil was known for his caring personality, always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and was an avid lottery player.
In his personal life, Virgil cherished the time spent with his family. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Ron) Smith and Jeff (Ashley) Bidwell; sisters, Margaret Delehanty Geneva Bohn and Valetta Shiflett; brothers, Leonard Bidwell and Ronald Bidwell; grandchildren, Ronnie Smith, Dylan Smith, Bailey Smith, Hailey Bidwell, Jeffrey Scott II, Katlyn Miller and Kaden Miller; great granddaughter, Addi Kincaid and many nieces and nephews.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Laurel and Marie Bidwell, who instilled in him the values of integrity and compassion that he carried throughout his life.
A Visitation will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. Virgil will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors following the service.
He will be deeply missed, but his kindness and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
The family asks that everyone in attendance bring a scratch off to send with Virgil.
