Violet Gammell

Violet Gay Gammell, age 97, of Dayton, passed away on March 16, 2016 at Bethany Village. She was born on March 17, 1918, in Osgood, Indiana, to the late Walter and Hazel (Reed) McNew. Along with her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Willard D. Gammell; her son, Jim Gammell; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son, Wayne W. (Gail) Gammell; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Katie) Gammell, Susanne (Tim) Brabender, Jenny Gammell, Jimmy Gammell; 9 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Beckett, Lois Kosco; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 250 Peach Orchard Ave., Oakwood, OH. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. The family would like to thank the staff at Cherry Park and Cascade at Bethany Village for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton or Concordia Lutheran Church.
