Vicki L. "Vick" Smith

Vicki L. Smith, affectionately known as "Vick," was born on July 1, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio. She departed this world August 19, 2025, in Kettering, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew her.

Vick was a spirited individual, renowned for her vibrant personality that shone brightly in every aspect of her life. Crazy, fun, loud, and wonderfully quirky, she had a unique way of bringing joy to those around her. Her loving nature endeared her to many, and her tendency to arrive fashionably late only added to the delightful charm she embodied.

Graduating from Kiser High School in the Class of 1974, Vick spent more than 20 years dedicating her talents and efforts to the Miami Valley News Agency, where she left an indelible impression on her colleagues and clients alike. Her passion for life extended far beyond her professional pursuits; she was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed attending concerts, and had a deep love for travel. Vick was also a proud member of the Jaycees, bringing her enthusiasm and vivacity to all her endeavors. She loved God and loved attending church.

Vick is survived by her brother, Joey Smith; and sisters, Tricia Smith (Louie Zinzigk), Christina Shepherd, and Amber Shepherd. She shared an unbreakable bond with her family, who, along with many other relatives and friends, will deeply miss her vibrant presence and the warmth she brought into their lives.

She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Billy and Carole Smith, and her beloved brother, Billy Smith Jr. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who adored Vick, and her spirit will linger as a testament to her beautiful life.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 27. Her burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery.

In celebrating Vick's life, we remember her incredible spirit, her infectious laughter, and the unconditional love that she so freely gave. Though she may no longer be with us physically, her memory will forever echo in our hearts, reminding us to cherish the moments we have and to love fiercely, just as she did.
