Velma Deloris Lindsey, age 77 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born June 3, 1943 in Minden, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Dwight and Mozelle Martin.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karolyn Stephens; husband, Clifford Lindsey; and her 6 brothers.
Velma is survived by her children, Cassandra Works, Darren Champ, Toni (Jeff) Bankston; grandchildren, Candace Champ, Mike Stephens, Ashley Works, Karrington Champ, Darren Champ II, Lindsey Bankston; great granddaughter, Kylee Suber; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Velma was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and, in her younger years, enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Private Graveside Service will take place in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH. The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks will be worn in all public places.
