Velma Inez Herndon

Velma Inez Herndon was born on April 3rd, 1945 to Viola Herndon in Middletown, Ohio. She is preceded in life by her mother Viola Herndon, her brothers Teddy, Robert (Aunt Shirley), Charles, (Aunt Pat) her sister Betty, William Allen and her daughter Candace.

Velma is survived by her sister, Joyce Byrd, daughter Bethani, her son Antonio, granddaughters Jailyn and Jada, grandsons Christian and Sevyn, great grandson Tylan, great granddaughter Day’Lah, nieces, nephews and host of family and friends.

Velma was a graduate of Middletown High School. Her home church was AME Bethel (Middletown) and Summit Christian Church (Dayton). She was employed at Diamond International for many years. Shen then moved to Dayton where she became a manager for nursing staffing for 20 plus years at Maria Joseph Living Care Center.

Velma was loved by many. She nurtured and guided many people along her journey in life. She will always be remembered for her tenacity, drive, and spirit. Her support for her family and friends was phenomenal! She will be loved and missed forever!
