Valda Manis

MANIS, Valda H., age 87, beloved wife of Ron Manis, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was born in Moodyville, TN to the late Grover and Pansy Hill.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Ron Jr. (Sue) Manis, Janice Officer, and Jackie (Steve) Heyl; brothers, Willard and Thomas Hill; sisters, Dee Perrin, Vos Lane, and Vannie Kaye; grandchildren, Erika, Andrea, and Luke Manis, Cody Officer, Madeline, Adam, and Paige Heyl, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Valda is preceded in death by her brothers, Wilburn, Dale, and Elworth Hill and sister, Jane Horner. She was a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star of the Victory Chapter, as well as an active member of the Heart Association. She was a lifelong learner, last attending Wright State University. A devout Christian, she attended the Dayton Baptist Temple.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Dayton Masonic Temple, 525 W. Riverview Ave., Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
