Troy L. Pennington, a beloved figure to many and a dedicated auto mechanic, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on August 5, 1954, Troy chose a life that revolved around his passion for vehicles and the great outdoors, notably enjoying classic cars and motorcycles.
For 30 years, Troy worked ardently as an auto mechanic, primarily out of his home, where he honed his skills and shared his knowledge with others. His profession was not only a livelihood but also a means of connecting with family and friends who shared his enthusiasm for automobiles. He cherished living on a farm in the countryside, a place that reflected his love for nature and provided a serene backdrop for his life.
An esteemed member of his community, Troy graduated from Carlisle High School, where he laid the foundations of a life filled with hard work and determination. He took great pride in his family and his home, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in the company of dogs. He is remembered fondly for his beloved Boston terriers, who brought warmth and comfort to his daily existence.
Troy leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife of 26 years, Marcia, and his sister, Charlene Y. Johnson (Ronnie), as well as two daughters, Heather (Butch) Flack and Kristy (Josh) Perry. He is also survived by two stepsons, Jack Daniel and Cody (Camille) Daniel, and cherished nieces and nephews, David H. T. (Emily) Johnson, Kelly, John and Kaitlyn Hatfield and Samantha, Bo, and Scarlet Sturgis. Troy's legacy continues through his four grandsons, Logan Flack, Braeden Flack, Hudson Flack, and Rumi Daniel, along with his granddaughter, Juniper Daniel. His family extends to numerous relatives and friends who will keep his memory alive in their hearts.
Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Pennington, and his father, Hoyl Pennington, whose love shaped the man he became; and his sister, Deborah D. Pennington.
