Tracy Todd Hignite, a dedicated barber and cherished member of the Dayton, Ohio community, passed away on April 11, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle following a stroke. Born on March 16, 1956, in Dayton, Tracy's life was marked by steadfast commitment, kindness, and a joyous spirit that touched all who knew him.
A proud alumnus of Centerville High School, Tracy further honed his skills by graduating from barber college. His passion for his craft led him to a remarkable 46-year career at Woodland Barber Service, where his expertise and friendly demeanor made him a staple in the community. Known for his abundant dad jokes and warm humor, Tracy’s personality was as engaging as it was selfless; he was a jokester who balanced his lightheartedness with a profound thoughtfulness, especially toward his wife and others.
Tracy cherished his 28 years of marriage to Jeanne, with whom he shared 46 years together. Their special union, celebrated annually on St. Patrick’s Day, reflected his love for tradition and togetherness, often marked by celebrations that brought joy to family and friends alike. He also enjoyed going out to dinner, a simple pleasure he shared with those close to him.
He leaves behind a loving family who remember him dearly: his devoted wife Jeanne; stepson Jason Sprinkle and his wife Cassie; grandchildren Nora Delaney, Meno Barquera, and Veronica Sprinkle-Perez; and his brother Taylor Hignite and sister-in-law Jodie. His extended family includes nieces and nephews Todd and John Hignite, Tytus and Kelly Hignite, Trent and Jaime Stephens, Trae' and Michelle Benjamin, Stephanie and Joshua Hardy, and Kelsie and Max Cain, along with many other relatives and friends who cherish his memory.
Tracy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bobbie Jean Hignite, as well as his brother Terry Hignite.
His legacy is one of dedication, warmth, and humor, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him. Tracy’s life will be remembered for its unwavering kindness, his joyful spirit, and the profound love he showed his family and community throughout his lifetime.
