"Tony", Carl Anthony Botzenhardt, 51, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep at his home in Vandalia, Ohio on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Amy. Tony and Amy were married November 5, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada and have rarely been apart since. Tony is also survived by his mother, Sandy Wagner, father, Tom Botzenhardt, sister, Shona (Tim), stepsister, Sara (Tessa), nephews, Anthony, Nicholas, and Shane; niece, Cheyann; his mother-in-law, Linda Short, and, he was blessed with three stepchildren; Trent (Lindsay), Kohl (Anna), and Brittany, along with six grandchildren; Hunter, Brooklynn, Lawrence, Gabriella, Riley, and Henry. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his cats...which he called his little babies. Family, friends, and his pets, meant everything to him.
Tony enjoyed cooking and most of the time made way too much so he could share with his neighbors. His favorite superhero/alter-ego was Superman, and he certainly had the t-shirts to prove it. He liked a good game of darts and pool as well as cheering on the Bengals and watching NASCAR races. He was a fun loving free spirit that had a knack for making people laugh. We may never know why God called him home so soon, but we can be certain he has reunited with lost loved ones and pets, and that he's making them laugh again.
Forever in our hearts. Fly high Superman.
