Todd Michael Smith

Todd Michael Smith was born on 19 January, 1962 in Owosso, Michigan, the first child of Walter Randall Smith, Jr., and Janice Lee Smith, nee Kuehner. He grew up in many places around America including California, Idaho, and many places in Michigan. He joined the US Navy after graduating High School and continued to travel the globe to places like San Diego, Hawaii, the Philippines, southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He met the love of his life, Holly, while attending Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio and married her on 01 October, 1994. They set down roots in south Dayton, and he lived out his remarkable and passion-filled life.

Todd was a loving husband, son, brother, and friend. He lived a life of adventure. When not on the golf course, Todd could be seen with his wife, Holly, at dinners, concerts, traveling and working at Octoberfest. He helped Holly at RushCon every year, and always assisted the other organizers whenever they needed him, too. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Todd loved his sports! He organized a yearly golf trip and was commissioner of multiple fantasy football leagues. When his Wolverines played against Holly’s Buckeyes, there was always some sort of wager involved. One year he had to wear her Buckeyes jersey to work after a Michigan loss at the Shoe. Another year, Holly had to hang the Michigan flag at their house after they beat the Buckeyes.

Through uncertain times and good times, Todd always knew that his 88th Communications Squadron family had his 6.

Todd and Holly always loved to make each other laugh. And after 35 years together, they still did make each other laugh. And they still held hands like they always did.

He will be missed by every person who met him.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). A funeral service will begin at 4 pm.
