Timothy W. Leonard, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 80, in Kettering, Ohio. He was born on June 19, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio. Timothy's remarkable life was marked by his unwavering commitment to family and an admirable work ethic.
Timothy enjoyed a distinguished career at General Motors, where he dedicated 43 years to the company before retiring. His tenure there was a testament to his hardworking nature and passion for his craft. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Timothy proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969, demonstrating his commitment to his country.
Known for his sweet and loving personality, Timothy had an innate ability to put others before himself. He was a devoted Southern Baptist and an avid fan of the Buckeyes, Bengals, and the Cincinnati Reds. His love for life was showcased in various hobbies, including working on cars, bowling, and cooking, where he excelled and brought joy to those around him.
Timothy is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Doug) Kemp; son, Michael (Jennifer) Leonard; grandchildren, Darren (Mackenzie) Kemp, Amanda (Michael Wilt) Kemp, Cale Leonard, and Killian Leonard; great-grandchildren, Vaeda and Graylen Kemp; sisters, Karen Mitchell and Diane Gullerman; brothers, Steven Leonard and Christopher Leonard; and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha (Thaxton) Leonard; son, Nicholas Leonard; parents, Woodrow and Lillian (Fader) Leonard; and sister, Rhonda Leonard. His legacy of love and hard work will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00PM on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering where Air Force Military Honors will be rendered. Family and friends may visit from 5:00PM until the time of service.
Timothy W. Leonard will be remembered not only for his achievements and unwavering spirit but also for his gentle and loving nature that touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will forever be a guiding light for his family and friends.
