Timothy J. Foster, a handyman and cherished outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, in his hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on November 28, 1958, in Dayton, Timothy lived a life marked by generosity, creativity, and a sharp wit that endeared him to all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Timothy was known for his exceptional skill in working with his hands. His creativity shone brightly in his craftsmanship, whether at home or in his work. Yet, beyond his talents, Timothy’s heart belonged to the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, camper, and gardener, finding solace and joy in nature's embrace. Fishing trips and camping adventures were not just pastimes, but moments where he fully expressed his love for life and the natural world around him.

Timothy possessed a quick wit and a lively sense of humor, often laced with a touch of sarcasm, which brought laughter to family gatherings and friendly conversations alike. Despite his sharp tongue, he was profoundly generous and thoughtful, always ready to lend a hand or an understanding ear to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Junior Foster; his brothers, Donald Joseph Foster and Robert Joseph Foster; and his nephew, Raymond Cooper. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tiffany Patterson; his mother, Mary Catherine Foster; his sisters Sharon (Russell) Long, Elaine (Terry) Heard, and Mary DeMattei; and his brothers James Foster, Joseph Foster, and Anthony “Tony” (Lisa) Foster. Timothy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews-Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Ashley, Vanessa, Joseph, Aunmarie, Tonia, Jenniffer, Danielle, and Dylan-as well as a cherished niece, Mary Catherine (Michael) Heard, and a host of other loving relatives and friends who were touched by his spirit.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Our Lady of Mercy, Our Lady of Grace Parish, 220 West Siebenthaler Avenue, Dayton, OH 45405, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Mass honoring Timothy’s life will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Timothy J. Foster’s legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and a deep connection to the world around him. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace among the beauty of the outdoors he so dearly loved.
