Thomas “Tuck” Mantia passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 after a brief battle with liver cancer. Tuck was born on August 18, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio to Thomas and Lucille Mantia.
Tuck loved his family, enjoyed grilling a steak, and loved to tinker. He was a good husband and father.
Tuck will be remembered for his numerous hobbies from owning and caring for his Corvette, stargazing and building his own telescope, his recumbent bicycling, his beautiful photography, and in his later years, his carpentry of fine wooden boxes and clocks.
Tuck had a deep love of animals. His kind and gentle approach attracted many cat friends over the years.
Tuck is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis (Burns); sister Judy Mantia (Sharon); son Tom Mantia (Tonya), daughter Lori Kilian (John); stepson Andrew Holbrook; stepdaughter Amy Holbrook (Bob Mihalek); grandchildren Tommy Mantia (Tara), Jenna Kilian, Kylee Flint; great grandchildren Sadie and Maci, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lucille, and his sister, Rosa.
A visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, with a service following immediately after at 3:00pm.
