Thomas R. "Tom" Stahl

Thomas R. "Tom" Stahl, age 78, of Fairborn, passed away on December 24, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on October 13, 1946, the son of the late Thomas Stahl and Phyllis (Sheridan) Thompson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Mabel Bayer; his beloved wife of over 43 years, Zola Stahl; their dog, Candi; and his siblings, Judy Gay, Billie Pierson, Linda Keller, Alan Stahl and Sonny Thompson. 

He is survived by his loving children, Tommy (Doris) Whitehorn, Jeff (Pinie) Whitehorn, Gene (Flora) Rohr, Dean (Belinda) Rohr, Cynthia (Randy) Smith, Michael Rohr, Patricia (Wayne) Wilson and Barbara (Warren) Stiles; grandchildren, Richard, Adam, Amanda, Andrew, Timmy, Stephanie, Nick, Jennifer, Hanna, Samantha, Wayne III, Kirsten, Kari, Kasey and Aaron; 18 great grandchildren; nephew, Terry (Patricia) Avery; lifelong friends, Dennis (Cathy) May; and many other loving family and friends.

Tom served his country proudly by serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was privileged with a seat on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., in September of 2024, escorted by Terry Avery. He retired from Tate and Lyle. He was a lifelong member of Moose Lodge 1068, the VFW and the Eagles Lodge for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing poker (especially Texas Hold 'Em), fishing, bowling and spending time with his family and friends. Tom was quite the "talker" and could carry on a conversation with anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn. 

Donations may be made in his memory to the Veteran's Organization of one's choice.
