Thomas A. Ray, affectionately known as Tom, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 81. Born on January 25, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, Tom was a pillar of his family and a cherished member of his community.

Tom’s personality was a balance of easygoing charm and feisty determination. He appreciated the finer order in life, undertaking each task in his own time and manner, which endeared him to many. His enthusiasm for life was evident in his wide array of interests. A passionate sports fan, he proudly supported the Cincinnati Reds and followed Florida State football closely. He found joy in bowling and was honored to be inducted into the Ohio Bowling Hall of Fame, a testament to his talent and dedication to the sport.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joann Ray; his children, Stephanie Moody, Steve Ray, and Angie Ray; and his brother, Kenneth Ray. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Alice Bowman, and his cherished sister, Jerry. Tom adored his grandchildren: Kristy Brandenburg, Brandon Johnson, Austin Jackson, Rylan Jackson, Chelsea Trimble, Cortney Greth, Katie Ray, Courtney, Nick Ray, and Amanda Ray. Furthermore, he took great pleasure in the company of his numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a special light to his life.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Audrey Ray, as well as his daughters, Cheryl Ray and Rhonda Daugherty. Though he has departed from this world, the remarkable legacy he leaves behind in the hearts of his family and friends will endure. Tom will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
