Dayton

Thomas E. Nawman, affectionately known as Tom, was born on March 23, 1955, in Urbana, Ohio, and began his journey in life spreading kindness and a helping hand to all who knew him. Sadly, he passed away on September 24, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth will be cherished by his family and friends.

Tom dedicated over 30 years of his life to being a Boiler Operator at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), where he was not only recognized for his hard work but also remembered for the kindness he exuded in every interaction. His cheerful demeanor and willingness to assist others endeared him to many, making him a remarkable presence in both his workplace and community.

A great man with a kind heart, Tom had an infectious spirit that brightened the days of everyone around him. He strongly believed in lending a hand to those in need, always ready to share a smile or a story. His compassion was evident, whether he was spending time with loved ones or simply lending support to a friend.

Tom held a passion for Case Tractors and found joy in attending tractor shows—a testament to his love for celebrating the intricacies of machinery and the camaraderie that comes from such gatherings. He also enjoyed the thrill of drag racing, an interest that reflected his zest for life and adventure. Whether in the fields or at the racetrack, Tom found happiness in the experiences that brought people together.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Crystal Windham, and her husband Steve, who carry forward his spirit and values. Tom's brother, Terry Nawman, along with sister-in-law Marsha, have stood by him through the years, creating cherished memories together. He was also uncle to his nephew Dennis Nawman, who, along with great-niece Faith and great-nephew Jeremy, will remember their time with him fondly. In addition to immediate family, Tom leaves behind several other relatives and friends who were fortunate to know him, including dear friends Jim Hartman and Tony Coffey, whose lives were undoubtedly enhanced by his presence.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, Everette and Iona Nawman, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became. He is also mourned by his friends Bob Patton and Dave Matheny, who undoubtedly felt his absence profoundly.

As we remember Thomas E. Nawman, we celebrate a life devoted to helping others, filled with camaraderie, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to kindness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the stories shared around gatherings for years to come.
