Rowe, Thomas Lester James, "Tommy", age 84, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010.
Tommy worked on the Panama Canal as a mechanic before he migrated to the United States in 1970. He then worked for the New York City Hotel as a security officer followed by his retirement from Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn in the late 1990's. Tommy loved to dance and loved life to the fullest.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 57 years: Norma Consuelo Rowe (Mitchell); children: Denise Sykes, Winston Rowe, Dorla Walker, Lavony Rowe, Arturo Rowe, Cory Rowe, Maricela Garcia, Zoraida Rowe, Sophia Davis & Thomas Rowe Jr.; 17 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters: Eloise Rowe & Sarah Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rudolph Augustus & Mary Jane (Mendez) Rowe; daughter: Judith Rowe; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.
