Thomas K Birchfield

BIRCHFIELD, Thomas K., age 90 of Kettering, went home to Jesus on March 24, 2016. He was born in Pomeroyton, KY to the late Samuel and Ida Birchfield. Thomas spent most of his life in Dayton, OH with the love of his life for 69 years, Fran Northcutt Birchfield. He received a Purple Heart after being wounded in the Battle of Noemfoor Island in New Guinea during WWII. Thomas proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army Infantry. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1979 after 32 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Thomas is survived by his wife Fran; three children, Paula (David) Campbell, Tom (Abbie) Birchfield, and Dan (Andrea) Birchfield; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Tom's life will begin with a visitation on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 11am - 1pm at Far Hills Church (5800 Clyo Road, Centerville, OH) with the funeral to follow at 1pm. Burial to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to Far Hills Church or the Dayton, OH VA Hospice.
