Thomas Edward Bradam

Thomas Edward Bradam, affectionately known as Tom, passed away peacefully at home with his family in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 3, 2026. Born on November 13, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, Tom’s life was a testament to hard work, devotion to family, and genuine warmth that touched everyone he met.

A proud native of Dayton, Tom began his journey in a bustling household, cherished by his parents, William Greenberry Bradam and Callie Welch Bradam, and a remarkable group of siblings—William, Hollis, and Mickey Bradam; Ruby Hedgecoth, Nora Lee Graham, Nancy (Teenie") Rector, Notie Hedgecoth, and Arvella Hughes—all of whom have preceded him in death.

Tom devoted an incredible 44 years to General Motors, where his reputation for diligence became well known. During times of lay-off at the plant, he channeled his skill and energy into building garages, never one to let a moment go to waste. His career reflected the values he held dear: perseverance, reliability, and steadfastness.

Those who knew Tom also remember his many passions outside of work. He found peace in woodworking, cared deeply for his yard, reveled in traveling with friends and family, and enjoyed friendly games of cards. A lover of classic westerns—affectionately dubbed “Shoot em up bang bangs” by his beloved wife, Joanne—he rarely missed an opportunity to relax with a favorite film after a day’s work.

Tom’s hardworking spirit was always balanced by a playful side. He was known to lovingly play tricks and gently tease his grandchildren, bringing smiles and laughter into their lives. His family stood at the center of his world, and he recognized them as his proudest accomplishment, a truth visible in the warmth of his interactions and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

In his youth, Tom attempted to join the military alongside his brother, eager to serve his country. However, being only 16 at the time, he was not permitted to enlist. This story became a cherished part of family lore—a reminder of his willingness to step up and his youthful earnestness.

Tom’s memory will be treasured and carried forward by a devoted family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Anita Whitson, and her husband, John; his sister Linda Garrett; granddaughters April Whitson and Janet (Jason) Elliott; and great-grandchildren Kelsie and Devin Whitson, Tanner and Cody Elliott. Each holds in their hearts memories of his kindness, humor, and unwavering support.

He is reunited in rest with his cherished wife, Joanne of 73 years, and his dearly missed parents and siblings.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 PM at the same location.

Thomas Edward Bradam’s life was marked by dedication, integrity, and a special joy that he freely gave to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
