Thelma V. Johnson, born on January 28, 1945, in Middletown, Ohio, departed this life on July 15, 2025, in Miamisburg, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Thelma was a devoted mother to her three sons, Dwayne (Stacy) Johnson, Scott Johnson, and Lester Johnson, and a loving mother to her beloved daughter, Cindy Jones. She took immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren: Holly (Justin) Reed, Krista Cripps, Tiffany Johnson, Leslie Jones, Ceaira Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Cole Johnson, Skyler Endicott, and Rodney Johnson, and she delighted in the company of her ten great-grandchildren. The warmth she extended to her family was palpable, and it was reciprocated in the deep bonds they shared.

A cherished sister, Thelma is mourned by her siblings Mick (Mary) Copper, Sherry McIntosh, Sandra (Richard) Wells, and Pamela (Larry) Tudor. She also leaves behind a wealth of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were touched by her kindness and spirit.

Thelma was known for her vibrant personality; her laughter was infectious, often causing her to become so engulfed in amusement that she could scarcely finish telling a joke. Her humor and her unique laugh created countless joyful memories that will be fondly remembered. A remarkable cook, Thelma was particularly well-loved for her fudge and oatmeal cookies, which brought comfort and happiness to her family gatherings.

In addition to her culinary talents, Thelma engaged in many hobbies that enriched her life and those around her. She enjoyed playing cards and indulging in crafting, activities that brought her both joy and connection with loved ones.

Her parents, Edward and Merle Copper, and her sister, Beverly Creager; her brother Richard Copper precede her in death as does her grandson, Dustin Johnson. Their shared memories and love remain intertwined in the hearts of those left behind.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Thelma’s life on July 24, 2025, at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. The family encourages all who knew Thelma to join them in honoring her memory, celebrating the extraordinary impact she had on their lives.

Thelma V. Johnson will be remembered not only for her unwavering love but also for the laughter and joy she brought into the world. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a testament to a life well lived and deeply cherished.
