Thelma Hammond

Thelma Hammond, age 92 of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. She was born August 22, 1928 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to the late Jesse and Susie Stafford. She is also preceded in death by her five siblings, Doc, John, Bonnie, Odus, and Margie.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert Hammond; three daughters, Cathy (Mike) Glander, Connie (Marion) Hageman, and Rosie (Sam) Stevens; son, Tim (Sue) Hammond; ten grandchildren, Missy, Erin, Mieke, Jonathan, Abigail, Emily, Amanda, Brienne, Zac and Aaron. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was devoted to her faith and her family. Thelma was a compassionate giver to everyone she met. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening.

Family would like to extend a special thank you to Social Row Transitional Care and Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion.

A Family Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on October 10, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Kettering Chapel. Family Funeral Service will be officiated by Sam Stevens and Zac Dixon at11:00 am.
