Thelma Jean "Jeannie" Copeland

Thelma Jean "Jeannie" Copeland, age 90, of Dayton, passed away on September 27, 2026. Born on March 23, 1936, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, she was the daughter of Andrew and Rosa Collins.

Jeannie dedicated nearly 30 years of her life working at Kmart as a Stock Room Manager. She also served as President of the Lincoln Elementary PTA from 1970 to 1972. Known for her loving and vibrant nature, Jeannie was outgoing, strong-willed, and occasionally stubborn.

Preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Kelly Copeland; and her siblings, Glenn, Williard, Clarence, James, William , Louise, and Sarah (Bessie).

She is survived by her devoted son, Kevin, and his wife, Son; her sister, Evelyn; and her best friend for over 40 years, James Flickenger.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 11:00am, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek.
