Terry Ray Smith, 53, of Tipp City, Ohio lost his battle to mental health on May 9, 2026. He was a beloved son, father, and friend who will be missed dearly. While there is devastation in the loss, the focus remains on the light he brought into the world.
Terry was born on May 16, 1972 to Helen Heitzman in Dayton, Ohio. An alumni of Centerville High School, where he grew up at. Him and his wife, Brenda have three beautiful daughters: Rayanna, Destinie, and Bella. He is also survived by his siblings: Candice Smith, Melinda Smith, and Jason Smith. Along with his mother, Helen Heitzman, niece Makayla Smith, and nephew Malik Taylor.
In his time he enjoyed cracking jokes with his girls and spoiling his fur baby, Willow. He also enjoyed doing things with technology as well as taking walks with Willow and his girls. They will remember him for his ability to make them laugh, support in everything they did, and love for them no matter the circumstances. He was soft-spoken, kindhearted, and loved his family.
Rayanna will forever hold close the memories of their shared softball days. The countless times he would throw the ball with her, let her pitch to him, and helped with her batting. She will also remember his unwavering support on and off of the field. Every time she plays, she will continue to carry his memory with her and honor him through the game they grew to love together.
Destinie will remember all the dinners he cooked for his girls and the times she helped him. Each time she steps into the kitchen she will reflect on the love he had in each meal. They made recurring memories and endless laughs together while bonding over cooking.
Bella will always hold close the time she came home upset after feeling left out by the other girls in her class. Wanting to cheer her up, her dad spent the evening watching movies with her, and the following day they made the most of their time together by shopping, trying different restaurants, and making happy memories she would never forget knowing he will always be by her side.
