Terry F. Combs

Terry F. Combs, "Papaw," age 59 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Beverly Combs, and his grandparents.

Terry is survived by his spouse, Karin Shanesy; five sons, Tyler (Shannon) Combs, Travis (Stacie) Combs, Ryan (Brittany) Combs, Timothy (Ashley) Combs, and James (Carmen) Combs; sister, Carla (Doug) Combs; grandchildren, Mia, Aiden, Ezra, Harlow, Ryleigh, Nolan, Paxton, Ruby, Carter, and Cayson; as well as numerous grandpets.

Terry is a proud veteran of the United States Army. His passions were his grandchildren, his boys, and music. He loved his hometown teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. His favorite places to visit were the Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan and Sandra D's Italian Restaurant in Auburn, Indiana.

His Stage/Production Manager career started at JD Legends alongside owners who would become good friends, Wasfi and Charlie Samaan, where he took care of the concerts and bands for the past 17 years. He was also Stage/Production Manager for GTG Promotions for the last 6 years, and Manager for his friend, Mick Blankenship, who he loved to go on the road and tour with. Previously, Terry owned Gem City Delivery, was a Trustee at FKAL, and toured with Robbie Knievel building his ramps.

Terry was known as "Papaw" to everyone who came in contact with him. He was also a storyteller. You'd be lucky if a conversation with him didn't last over an hour that included a lot of off-the-wall stories. He always had an uncanny way of making a bad situation better within a matter of minutes, and it was usually with humor.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). A funeral service will begin at 7 pm, with military honors.
