Teresa Carol Bates

Teresa Carol Bates, age 54 of Dayton, went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born December 31, 1965 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky the daughter of James and Ruth Banks.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Edwards Banks and brother, Leon Gay

Teresa is survived by her husband of 15 blessed years, William Joseph "Tooty" Bates; five sons, Anthony J. "Shotgun" (Trinette) Young, Andre "Dae Dae" (Labrittnay Ferguson) Young, Andrew "Dewey" Young, William "John John" Bates III and James Rossi (Rachel) Bates; twenty grandchildren, AJ, Andrew, Ashton, Kaden, Shania, Andre, London, Avery, BJ, Ava, Austin, Adien, Abby, Kylie, Josh, Kendrick, TJ, Myo, Kameron and Jordan; six siblings, Maurice (Charlene) Gay, Lehman D. Bates, Reggie Bates, Barry Bates, Michal Ba'th and Debbie Bates. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Could it be possible to experience unconditional love? Throughout Teresa's life she has blessed so many people she's come into contact with. Her unconditional love for her husband and children was a reflection of God's spirit in her. She was patient, loving, slow-to-anger, gentle and kind to others. Teresa always kept everyone's needs and concerns at the forefront of her mind. Teresa worked as a community health advocate for the Montgomery County serving the needs of those most vulnerable in her community. She was loved and respected by her peers and associates. We are truly blessed and thankful to have had Teresa in our lives.

Public Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Maranatha Worship Centre located at 4501 Wolf Road Dayton, Ohio 45416. Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Truman Martin at 1:00 pm.
