Suszanne (Rees) McCoy, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and close friends.
Born on May 14, 1942, in Springfield, Ohio, Suszanne carried a quiet strength and kind heart throughout her life. She spent many years working as a secretary, where her dedication, organization, and caring nature served her well.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee McCoy, and her parents, Bernice and Ira Rees.
Suszanne is survived by her loving children, Benjamin (Marti) Shoenfelt, Nicholas (Lisa) Shoenfelt, Margaret (Ivan) Harris, Robyn McCoy and Robert McCoy; her sister, Marilyn (George) Pollock; six cherished grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
A longtime resident of Canterbury Court in West Carrollton, Suszanne formed many meaningful friendships and was deeply grateful for the kindness of those who helped her over the years with transportation, companionship, and support. Their generosity brought her comfort and enriched her life.
In her free time, Suszanne enjoyed reading and knitting. She lovingly created beautiful shawls for her grandchildren and a special sweater for her great-grandchildren, gifts that will be treasured as lasting reminders of her love and thoughtfulness. She also adored her beloved cat, Mr. Whiskers, whom she cared for and kept by her side for as long as she was able. His companionship brought her comfort and joy through the years.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for the exceptional care and comfort they provided during Suszanne's final days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in Suszanne's memory.
