Susan L. Phelps

Susan Lynn (Hogden) Phelps, age 47, of Dayton, Ohio passed away suddenly on September 10, 2018. Susan was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Hogden and her stepdaughter, Shannon Phelps. She will be sorely missed by her father, Vern Hogden; her daughter, Emily Phelps McKibben; her ex-husband, Jeffrey Phelps; brother, David Hogden; and sister, Laura Hogden Schmidt; and many nieces and nephews. Susan was looking forward to the birth of her grandson, Carter McKibben.

Never had her family and friends met a kinder, gentler soul who helped anyone who was less fortunate than she. She was born on September 11, 1970, at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, and she graduated from Beavercreek High School, class of 1989, and attended Sinclair Community College as well as Wright State University. She was a devout member of her church, volunteered taking meals to shut-ins, raised money for various charities, including Samaritan's Purse and Children's Miracle Network, volunteered rehabbing homes, and she worked at Greene County Library and as an EMT for Beavercreek Township Fire Department.

Friends and family members are welcome to attend the viewing 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 13th at Newcomer Funeral Home at 3380 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek. The funeral service will occur at the same location, officiated by Pastor Tracy Wright, on September 14th at 11:00 am with burial following at the Beavercreek Township Cemetery.
