Susan Kay Hivner

Susan Hivner, age 81, of Huber Heights, Ohio went to her heavenly home December 27, 2020. She was born on March 4, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio. She married Robert Hivner Sr on March 24, 1960. She was married to her first love for 23 years. She was also known as Susie to some. Susan was a 1957 Washington Township Graduate. She enjoyed working in the cafeteria for Huber Heights Schools for 16 years and as a teacher volunteer. She had a love for gardening and animals. She liked going to the Smoky Mountains and especially liked Cades Cove. She was a caregiver for many over the years; always helping others whether family, neighbor, friend, or stranger. She had a sharp mind and never forgot a birthday. She liked to play cards, make latch hook rugs and loved to see her grandchildren.

Susan leaves to cherish her memory her children, Clara Dohme, Robert (Jill) Hivner Jr, Thelma (Steve) Sigmon, and Benjamin (Cheryl) Hivner; grandchildren, Sara (Matthew) Taylor, Brandon (Holly) Dohme, Robert (Jordyn) Hivner III, Jacob Hivner, Jennifer (Michael) Blair, Romie Sigmon III, Luke (Miriaha) Sigmon, Elaine Sigmon, Isaac Hivner, Joshua Hivner, and Anna Hivner; great grandchildren, Olivia, Logan, Kali, Xavier, Nolan, Lily, Weston, Kierra, Kiya, Landen, Savanna, Lincoln, and Romie Sigmon IV. Several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Hivner Sr; her parents, Forest & Thelma (Bailey) Martin; sister and brother-n-law, Phyllis & Ronny Swallow.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Newcomer North Chapel, Dayton. A celebration of her life will start at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
