Susan Elizabeth Smith

Susan Elizabeth Smith, a beacon of love and compassion, passed away on January 24, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on June 4, 1965, Susan lived a life filled with warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

For over a decade, Susan dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse with CareSource. Her career was a testament to her wonderful, caring nature, and her dedication to supporting those in her community. She embodied the spirit of giving, always putting others first in both her personal and professional life.

Susan was a wonderful cook and a gifted baker, often bringing joy to her family with her culinary delights. Memories of her kitchen filled with laughter and love will forever resonate with those fortunate enough to enjoy her creations. Spending time with her family was Susan’s favorite thing to do, those cherished moments will be remembered fondly by everyone.

Susan graduated from Beavercreek High School, Class of 1983, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University. 

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Rudy Smith, and her two cherished sons, Christopher Double (and companion, Rose) and Kyle Double (and companion, Tesla Graham). Susan's legacy will continue through her grandchildren, Dakota, Declan, Christopher, Andrew, Asher and Braylynn. She is also survived by her father, Paul Double, and her siblings, Kathy Glascoe and Paul Double (April). Additionally, she leaves behind her nephew and nieces, Cody (Amanda), Ally (Josh), and Addyson, along with her great nephews and great niece: Carter, Greyson, and Amelia.

Susan was preceded in death by her dear Mom, Sandra "Sue" Double.

Susan will be deeply missed not only by her family but by all whose hearts she touched throughout her journey. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio.

As we remember Susan Elizabeth Smith, we are reminded of her spirit—a spirit that will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she loved. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, care, and dedication will forever inspire those who were fortunate to call her family and friend.
