Susan Arnette Bickett

Bickett, Susan A. age 71, of Xenia, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on March 19, 1949 to the late William Arnette Wood and Virginia Elizabeth Jones Wood (nee Igleheart).
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Caroline Fulton of Peebles, Ohio, Louise Klopfenstein of Bakersfield, California, and William Wood of Xenia, Ohio.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Gary K. Bickett; daughter, Abby J. Smith; son, Zachery B. Smith; step-daughter, Beth Bickett; step-grandchildren, Joseph and Johnathan Ehling; and a host of other family members and friends.
Susan was fiercely loyal to her husband, children, and family. She survived cancer more than once, and went through those battles never complaining, always smiling and encouraging those around her. Being in a military family, she moved often as a child growing up and spent time in Turkey. One of her favorite homes was the farm in Xenia Township, where her and Gary lived most of their life together. They spent nearly every weekend at Lake St. Mary's, many times with family. They loved it so much, they moved there until recently moving back to Xenia. Throughout her life, she enjoyed recreational softball, golf, bowling, fishing and most recently boating or relaxing at their home on Lake St. Mary's. Susan retired from the City of Xenia, after 25 years of service. She was one of a kind, the greatest encourager to her children and will forever be missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432
